GPS has become an attractive feature for geolocalization enabling asset tracking IoT devices. satellite antennas radiate RHCP (right-hand circularly polarized) electromagnetic waves; thus, the typical antenna at receiver is also RHCP. However, when orientation of receiving device random, linear polarization operate better in terms TTFF (time to first fix). Through field measurements (urban and field) considering different positions a vehicle, microstrip patch non-resonant element called booster were compared. averaged several was 7 s linearly polarized than antenna. The results demonstrate that behavior technology more robust arbitrary position while keeping small size simplicity.sdf
